Groove Legacy is a seven-piece jazz outfit keeping the funk sound alive.
Hailing from Los Angeles, Groove Legacy is made up of long-time session musicians who have played with the likes of Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin. Inspired by funk masters such as The Crusaders, Groove Legacy is dedicated to creating vibrant, original compositions steeped in the roots of jazz, blues and soul.
Groove Legacy features talented instrumentalists Bill Steinway (keyboards), Paulie Cerra (saxophone), Travis Carlton (bass), Andrew Lippman (trombone), Kirk Fletcher (guitar), Lemar Carter (drums) and Sam Meek (guitar). The band’s debut, self-titled album was released in February 2016.
