Kristen Brassel mines her Southern roots for a honeyed blend of country, roots and pop.
A native of North Mississippi, Brassel cites country icons the Dixie Chicks, Michelle Branch, Joni Mitchell and Shania Twain as her foremost musical influences. The clear-voiced singer/songwriter launched her music career with a move to Nashville, where she released her first two EPs, Do You Know Kristen Brassel? (2014) and Love and Lightning (2015).
With Chris Butler (guitar) and Chris Belcher (drums), Brassel (guitar, vocals) has played at notable Nashville venues such as The Bluebird Café, The Tin Roof and Silver Dollar Saloon, in addition to community and charity events. In 2016, she won the Mississippi Music Foundation’s awards for Best Mississippi Country Artist and Best Mississippi Original Song for “Love and Lightning.”
