Brooklyn’s Los Hacheros are modern-day torchbearers of the golden age of Latin music. The quintet’s dedication to authenticity is evident in their traditional instruments, vocal style and the delicious “sabor” they infuse into everything they do. Los Hacheros recorded their recent sophomore album, “Bambulaye” (2016), live to vintage analog tape, giving the music a raw, warm sound similar to the Latin legends that have inspired them.
They recently signed to The Dap Kings’ new Latin label, Chulo, and NPR recently raved, “What The Dap-Kings are to vintage soul, Los Hacheros are to the golden era of Latin music. A strong statement, yes, but this New York City five-piece acoustic band has all the soul, fire and reverence of the late Sharon Jones' backup band.”
