Join the conjunto band Los Texmaniacs for a feisty fusion of rock, blues, R&B and Tejano music.
Bajo sexton virtuoso Max Baca began his musical career at the age of eight, inspired by his father and grandfather’s talents on the accordion. In 1997, he founded Los Texmaniacs—a San Antonio, Tex.-based band that celebrates the traditions of Tejano music with innovative, contemporary flourishes. Baca’s nephew, Josh Baca (accordion), and their friends Noel Hernandez (electric bass) and Lorenzo Martinez (drums) fill out the band.
This celebrated group has performed and recorded with such artists as the original Texas Tornados, Los Super Seven and the Rolling Stones. Their album for Smithsonian Folkways, Borders y Bailes, won a GRAMMY Award for Best Tejano Album in 2010. Los Texmaniacs appeared at the Levitt Pavilion Arlington in 2012 and 2015.
