The husband and wife team of indie pop band Goodnight Moonshine puts real-life stories into song.
Molly Venter and husband Eben Pariser are each lauded musicians in their own right. Venter is a member of acclaimed Americana trio Red Molly, which performed at the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts in Westport, Conn. in 2010. Pariser covers electric bass, gutbucket bass and lead vocals in the Brooklyn-based band Roosevelt Dime, which opened the 2016 Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series on July 30. The couple's joint project—Goodnight Moonshine—combines Venter’s smooth voice and songwriting savvy with Pariser’s lush harmonies and blues-imbued guitar. On tours, they are joined by Adam Chilenski (upright bass).
Goodnight Moonshine’s self-titled debut album, released in 2013, features 11 original songs about Venter and Pariser’s families, friends and life experiences. After touring the country this spring, the duo returned to the studio to record their second album, which they expect to release in June 2016.
