Born and raised in Uganda, Samite is a world renowned musician, humanitarian, and photographer who travels the globe with a message of peace and hope through the healing power of music. Samite’s smooth vocals accompanied by the kalimba, marimba, litungu, and various flutes mesmerize audiences throughout the world.

“Samite wraps his warm voice around melodies that seem to rise up off the Ugandan plateau,” said Billboard. He has released nine CDs, and recently Samite collaborated with the makers of Alive Inside, an award-winning documentary about the power of music to awaken memories in patients with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Opening the evening is the Ann Arbor-based Ragbirds, a genre-bending hybrid of indie-pop melodies, global rhythms, and songwriting styles.

The Arts Center’s Festival Green is an open lawn venue. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for their seating comfort. Food and beverages are available for purchase on-site at a cash bar and food trucks. No Alcohol Carry-Ins Allowed.

All proceeds from beverage sales at the Levitt AMP Sheboygan Music Series support the concerts’ continued success by helping to offset the high costs of production. Please support this series with your purchases. 


Parking for this series is available on N. 7th Street, New York Avenue, and N. 8th Street; after 5 p.m., parking on the streets is free. There are also two municipal parking lots, Lot 14 to the South and Lot 15 to the North. These lots are reserved parking from 8 a.m.–5 p.m., but offer free parking evenings and weekends. Parking availability adjacent to the concert space and within a two block area accounts for approximately 500 stalls.
