Named after Ukrainian nomads, Scythian plays immigrant rock with thunderous energy, technical prowess, and storytelling songwriting that beckons crowds into a barn-dance rock concert experience. Based in the DC Metro Area, Scythian throws Celtic, Celtic rock, folk, gypsy, and Americana together into a dance-all-night mix.
The band’s Jump at the Sun album earned praise from Ed Helms’s The Bluegrass Situation, which said it offers up a “shine-fueled, fiddle-flying hoedown” and a “blue-collar ballad we can all get behind.” Nashville’s Music City Roots says Scythian is “what happens when rock star charisma meets Celtic dervish fiddling.”
