Tumbleweed Highway fuses optimistic Americana with driving rock ‘n’ roll for a fresh take on a familiar sound.
When you hear Tumbleweed Highway’s music—which embraces blues, shuffle, boogie-woogie, honky-tonk and zydeco influences—you would never guess this five-piece band hails from the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York. Nate Gross (guitar, vocals) leads Patrick Strain (guitar, pedal steel, vocals), Mark Brown (keyboards), Steve O’Connell (drums, percussion, vocals) and Dan Colon (bass) in classic covers and danceable originals inspired by the likes of Gram Parsons and W.C. Handy.
In answer to its debut EP, titled Where Do We Go From Here? (2013), Tumbleweed Highway’s new album Mountain Town (2015) is about growing up on New York’s Chenango River.
