‘Stomp-rockers’ 4onthefloor will kick off the Levitt AMP Galva Music Series with an explosive set of sing-along anthems and soaring guitar solos that are bound to have audiences dancing, shouting and stomping in no time. This four-man band came to life in 2009, when lead singer Gabriel Douglas discovered a bass drum that was left behind during a show at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis, Minn. He has not put it down since. Today—inspired by the group’s origins—each of the four band members play a bass drum. Known for their fervent stomping in 4/4 time, many fans now playfully refer to the group as ‘stomp-rockers.’ Their driving original tracks draw inspiration from rock pioneers like Neil Young, the Guess Who and Led Zeppelin, while weaving in modern elements reminiscent to Brand New, Lucero, The Black Keys and Murder by Death. Their uplifting, catchy anthems celebrate comradery and friendship, while empowering listeners to make the best out of any situation—making the perfect summer soundtrack. The band’s powerful and dynamic live performances energize packed crowds from start to finish and fan favorites like “On Tuesdays” and “All my Friends” are known to linger in concertgoers' minds long after their performances have come to a close.
In 2011, Vita.mn Magazine dubbed 4onthefloor one of the year’s “best new bands” and indie publication Media Magazine called their debut record, 4x4, “one of the best rock ‘n’ roll records” of the year. Audiences might recognize the group’s music from television shows such as ABC’s Nashville and A&E’s Duck Dynasty. 4onthefloor has played venues and festivals across the country, including SXSW (2011).
