Blackwater Railroad Company (BWRR) was formed in the small town of Seward, Alaska in 2012, and is the perfect musical accompaniment for a warm, cheery evening. The band adds new original music with every passing show, mainly culled from lead singer’s Tyson Davis continuous output of singer-songwriter folk, filled with rich, autumnal tones and golden harmonies. With overarching themes of folk, bluegrass, rhythm and blues and ‘60s and ‘70s country music, BWRR specializes in upbeat, unique covers and catchy, danceable originals that never fail to get the crowd dancing and smiling.
BWRR is a collective of artists, writers and musicians who believe in the power of music to communicate universal narratives of what it means to be human. This clearly shows in their last album, 2016’s Nenana. The intimate community of Seward, Alaska and rich traditions of Americana define the band’s identity. Having toured the Alaskan music circuit relentlessly, the band has its eyes set on the Lower 48 soon.
