A husband and wife songwriting team, Chris and Jenn Shouse create deep and melodic songs that are inspired by the couple’s past, present, and time spent living in a cabin in the middle of the woods. Based in Kentucky, the Americana band formed in 2016 when Chris shifted his musical talents from guitar to mandolin in order to play behind his wife’s soothing lyrics and bone-chilling voice. Alongside the complex sounds of Chris’s mandolin, Jenn plays guitar to accompany her vocals while Cody Dugger is on the banjo and Owen Reynolds plays upright bass. Together, the band creates melancholy yet sweet tunes that are sure to soar straight into the souls of audience members.
Gray Space, the band’s debut album, boasts 12 original songs that are sure to get listeners humming and swaying along. Since the release of Gray Space in 2018, Chris and Jenn Shouse continue to hone their musical repertoire with more original songs and unique covers while performing at concerts and festivals, spreading their music throughout their home state of Kentucky and beyond.
