Singer-songwriter Damon Dotson brings heartfelt lyrics and anthemic pop stylings to his rustic folk tunes. Dotson is based out of Des Moines, Iowa and originally from Northwest Iowa. Channeling influences both old and new, including Dave Matthews Band, Willie Nelson and Of Monsters and Men, Dotson’s modern take on rustic folk and infectious singer-songwriter tunes is infusing new life into country music. His ten year career has included the release of four of his original albums and countless shows, solidifying his unique presence on the Midwestern folk and country circuit.
His most recent album Tumblin, released in March 2015, is a bold combination of upbeat tunes and heartfelt ballads, which climbed to #24 on the iTunes Rock Charts upon release. Following the album’s release, in 2015, he was invited to sing “America The Beautiful” on the floor of the House of Representatives at the Iowa State Capital. Having shared the stage with the likes of BB King, Willie Nelson, The Beach Boys, as well as modern artists like Matt Nathanson, Edwin McCain, and The Lone Bellow, Damon Dotson is one folk troubadour you cannot miss.
