Los Angeles-based post-rockers El Ten Eleven will perform on the Levitt AMP stage as part of the Santa Fe Currents New Media Festival’s opening weekend. Comprised of only two members, the groove-oriented instrumental band creates a massive wall of sound using little more than a double-neck bass guitar, drums and effect pedals. Often compared to fellow “math-rockers” Ratatat and Minus the Bear, El Ten Eleven have carved out a unique niche for themselves. Bassist Kristian Dunn’s impressive tonal varieties and Tim Fogerty’s complex drumming allow the traditional rhythm instruments to take center stage and create compelling melodic tunes. With six full-length albums under their belt, El Ten Eleven is at the peak of its powers.
