Illinois Symphony Orchestra's Brass and Percussion Ensemble

June 13, 2019 at 7pm

The Illinois Symphony Orchestra (ISO) is in its 27th season of critically-acclaimed music making, led by music director Ken Lam. These musical hometown heroes bring a fun and engaging repertoire of uplifting brass arrangements to communities all around the state—performing four Symphony Orchestra concerts, two Chamber Orchestra concerts, a Pops concert, a Holiday Pops concert and Concerts for Kids. Through their diverse programming, the ISO continues to bring classical music to the forefront each year.

The ISO's free Around the Town concert series invites audiences to experience acclaimed musicians in a variety of intimate settings. The orchestra won the Illinois Council of Orchestras' Award for Meritorious Service in Outstanding Programming in 2002, and its Community Service award in 2004, both recognizing their holistic service to the citizens of central Illinois. The orchestra performs throughout the year, bringing diverse repertoire and live musical experiences to audiences of all ages and backgrounds in both urban and rural settings.

Opening act

Timbre is a neoclassical / baroque pop band who has recorded with Jack White on his album Lazaretto and plays harp for the Jackson Symphony Orchestra.
