Afrofunk band Immigré channels their nuanced interpretations of classic Afrobeat through a combination of original compositions and covers that are sure to get you dancing. This 10-member powerhouse, hailing from Madison, Wisc., fuses iridescent, rhythmic guitar patterns with funky basslines, vibrant beats and blazing horn arrangements, accentuated by propulsive electric piano. While their genre is itself an amalgamation of elements from African music, jazz, soul and funk, Immigré infuses it with their own sound that is at once cadenced and hypnotic.
Immigré has played at such prominent venues as Wisconsin Funk Fest and Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music’s Global Dance Party Series. They released their eponymous debut EP in 2016 to glowing reviews.
